Easter Glazed Ham Recipe

Honey-Dijon Glazed Ham

Ingredients:

  • 1 Red Door Ranch Smoked Ham (approximately 6-8 pounds), bone-in or boneless
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).

  2. Prepare the Glaze: In a small saucepan, combine the honey, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, minced garlic, dried thyme, black pepper, and a pinch of salt. Heat the mixture over low heat, stirring occasionally, until the honey is melted and the ingredients are well combined. Remove from heat and set aside.

  3. Score the Ham: Using a sharp knife, score the surface of the ham in a diamond pattern, making shallow cuts about 1/4-inch deep. This will help the glaze penetrate the ham and add flavor.

  4. Glaze the Ham: Place the ham in a roasting pan or baking dish. Brush the honey-Dijon glaze generously over the entire surface of the ham, making sure to coat it evenly.

  5. Bake the Ham: Transfer the ham to the preheated oven and bake for about 1 1/2 to 2 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 140°F (60°C) when measured with a meat thermometer. Baste the ham with the glaze every 30 minutes or so during baking to keep it moist and flavorful.

  6. Rest and Serve: Once the ham is fully cooked, remove it from the oven and let it rest for about 10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute and ensures a juicy, tender ham. Slice the ham and serve warm, garnished with any remaining glaze from the pan.

Optional Serving Suggestions:

  • Serve the glazed ham with roasted vegetables, such as carrots, potatoes, and Brussels sprouts, for a complete and nutritious meal.
  • Accompany the ham with a side of whole grain mustard or cranberry relish for added flavor contrast.
  • Use any leftover ham to make sandwiches, salads, or soups for delicious meals throughout the week.
